About
About Distinct
One workspace for creators and the brands they work with.
What Distinct is
Distinct is one workspace for creators and the brands they work with. Creators develop ideas and write hooks, scripts, and captions in their own voice, and run the business around it with a media kit, a link in bio page, and brand deal tracking. Brands keep their creator roster, campaigns, budgets, outreach, and results in one place. Now in private beta.
Creators use it for the work they do every day, with or without a brand involved, and for the business around that work. In-house marketing teams at brands use it to run creator marketing without a spreadsheet holding the budget together. Read the full story for creators or for brands.
What Distinct is not
Distinct is software, not an agency and not a marketplace. We do not take a cut of any deal, we do not represent creators, and we do not sit between a brand and the person it hires.
It does not post, schedule, or publish content, does not edit video, and does not process payments between users. Instagram comment-to-DM automation is built and in testing, and is not yet available to everyone.
How Distinct makes money
Distinct is free during the private beta. After the beta there will be a free plan and paid plans, charged as a subscription for the software. Distinct never takes a percentage of a brand deal, so what a creator earns and what a brand pays are between them.
How we write the guides, rates, and glossary
The guides, rate benchmarks, calculators, and glossary are written to be useful whether or not you ever sign up. These are the rules they follow.
- Definitions stand on their own
- Every glossary entry and guide opens with one or two sentences that answer the question completely, with no product pitch in them. If that sentence is all you read, you still have the answer.
- Conventions are labelled as conventions
- Figures such as the 1 percent base rate or typical CPM ranges are working conventions used across the industry. They are presented as starting points, never as data Distinct measured.
- Live figures need a real sample
- Where a page shows numbers drawn from activity on Distinct, such as rate benchmarks, a figure is only shown once it is based on at least five different creators. Below that, the section is left out rather than shown with a thin sample.
- Dates mean something
- Guides show the date they were last substantively changed, meaning a number, a step, or an answer. Fixing a typo does not move the date.
- Comparisons include when we are the wrong choice
- The comparison page covers spreadsheets, enterprise platforms, marketplaces, and agencies on their own merits, and says plainly when Distinct is not the right fit.
- Corrections are welcome
- If something on this site is wrong or out of date, email hello@trydistinct.app. Corrections that change a figure or a step also update the page's date.
